Saturday 13 & 14 April, 2019, 10.00-4.00pm

Tutor: Matt Young

Cost: £170. 4 places. All materials included.

Join studio artist Matt Young for a two day introduction to stone lithography. Learn about how to grain a stone, how to make a drawing using greasy drawing materials and how to process the stone ready for printing. Participants will draw on half a stone each, working in pairs on the shared stones to help each other to understand this complex but very rewarding printmaking process. You will take at least one print of your image and it will be possible arrange to come back to the studio afterwards to continue to print if you would like to.

Feedback from our last litho course in October:

'A big ‘thank you’ for such an interesting and productive weekend. Learnt such a lot and enjoyed myself at the same time! Really appreciated the group being small as better able to really learn and understand the process.'

'I just wanted to say thank you for a super course last weekend. It was a great experience.'

On the course you will make a shared test drawing on a stone that you will print together as an introduction to the process. You will then be able to work on another stone to develop your own drawing
