Ever wondered how to get an even plate tone across your plate or how to get that aquatint super rich. Also get a fabulous rich black line with no plate tone at all. Paper and blankets will help with some of these things. However understanding how you can modify inks with extender oils- thin and thick, how and when to use Easywipe, why might you use magnesium and what does it do?

Learn how to use chine collee. No folded over corners, no over lapping bits of paper. Gain the confidence to work with chine collee on more of your intaglio prints. You will also learn how to use more than one piece of chine collee paper on a single print, 2, 3, 4 or more, once you gain these skills chine collee will be something you use over and over again to alter and add layers of interest to your prints.

Learn about colour in etching, explore how many colours you need in your palette. Learn how to mix vibrant colour and how to decide how to use it on your prints. Learn how to print "a la poupee", inking more than one colour on a plate at the same time. Also look at and discuss how to plan and make etchings that you plan to print in more than one colour- how colours are split across many plates and how the plates are inked to achieve the best colour combinations. Rob's considerable experience of inks, of ways of inking and his skills in getting the right colour combinations will all inform your printing and improve your prints.
